Lloret de Mar Town Council, through its tourism promotion body Lloret Turisme, has borne the costs of the training of the destination’s workers and companies. This year’s training courses will once again be run by Lloret de Mar Town Council – Lloret Turisme, with the agreement of the private sector.

In 2020 there was two types of trainings: general training, focusing on basic prevention measures and contingency plans, and sector-specific training for bars and restaurants, hotels, shops, transport companies, etc. For 2021, we plan to repeat the training sessions adapted to the sector, in a very practical format to update and provide first-hand knowledge of new developments and applications on hygiene and health measures against COVID19.

By 2020 there was more than 8,500 training courses: 3,443 tourism workers have taken part in the general training, while 5,065 workers have taken part in the sector-specific training for shops, bars, cafeterias, nightlife venues, restaurants, transport companies and accommodation establishments.

Altimir, a business group with a proven track record stretching over more than 25 years in the environmental health and food safety sector, has conducted the training sessions.

All the workers and companies of the Lloret de Mar tourism sector have been able to take part in the training sessions.

The training courses are given online., in group sessions of up to 1,000 participants, led by instructors and offering information packs.

In 2020, 10 sessions on 6 different themes were held:
• Shops
• Bars and cafeterias
• Restaurants
• Transport companies
• Hotels: catering
• Hotels: other service

For this 2021 it is planned to carry out 10 sessions by sectors and departments with the aim of reaching all the professionals of our tourism companies.
