Lloret de Mar Town Council, through its tourism promotion body Lloret Turisme, has borne the costs of the training of the destination’s workers and companies.
Two types of training have been organised: general training, focusing on basic prevention measures and contingency plans, and sector-specific training for bars and restaurants, hotels, shops, transport companies, etc.
More than 8,500 training packages have been delivered: 3,443 tourism workers have taken part in the general training, while 5,065 workers have taken part in the sector-specific training for shops, bars, cafeterias, nightlife venues, restaurants, transport companies and accommodation establishments.
Altimir, a business group with a proven track record stretching over more than 25 years in the environmental health and food safety sector, has conducted the training sessions.
All the workers and companies of the Lloret de Mar tourism sector have been able to take part in the training sessions.
The training sessions have been conducted online, in group sessions of up to 1,000 participants, led by instructors and offering information packs.
Ten sessions have been conducted in six specific areas:
• Bars and cafeterias
• Transport companies
• Hotels: catering
• Hotels: other service
